Izumi Takemoto "Aoi-chan Panic!" Report Pad (Kodansha "Nakayoshi" Supplement)
This is a report pad titled AOI'S FREE SPACE featuring the design from Izumi Takemoto's representative work, Aoi-chan Panic!, which was serialized in Kodansha's monthly shojo manga magazine Nakayoshi and achieved great popularity. It was a bonus item included in Nakayoshi.
It is B5 size and has a total of 15 pages.
It is new and unused, but there is some yellowing on the pad due to age.
Izumi Takemoto debuted in the August 1981 issue of Nakayoshi when her work Yumemiru July Cat won an honorable mention in Kodansha's 21st Nakayoshi/Shojo Friend New Manga Award while she was a fourth-year university student.
The following year, she gained popularity with her first serialization, Pineapple Mitai ?, and then broke through with Aoi-chan Panic!, which ran for a long serialization of one and a half years starting in 1983.
The popular manga Anmitsu Hime by Shosuke Kurakane, which was serialized in Kobunsha's monthly shojo magazine Shojo from 1954 to 1959 and was adapted into movies and TV dramas multiple times after its conclusion, was adapted into a TV anime by Studio Pierrot from 1986 to 1987. During this time, it was serialized again in Nakayoshi as a tie-in, with Izumi Takemoto handling the artwork.
This was not simply a comic adaptation of the anime; it was a completely different nonsensical comedy that featured an original character, the young lord from the neighboring country, Sakuramochi Taro, as a main character.
After that, she serialized Apple Paradise in Hobby Japan's Comic Master EX, Comic Master, and RPG Magazine from 1992 to 1997, which received a great response.
After leaving Kodansha's exclusive contract and becoming a freelance manga artist, her works have increased in game magazines and niche magazines, and she is currently active mainly in those fields. However, even after her work in shojo magazines decreased significantly, she has continued to call herself a shojo manga artist.
This is recommended for fans of Showa-era shojo manga, fans of Izumi Takemoto, fans of Aoi-chan Panic!, and fans of Nakayoshi.
